After a few years and multiple combat deployments in the military as an elite Army Ranger in Savannah GA, it was time to transition to a new adventure. With a short and varied background in construction working summers in high-school as the inspiration, the career change decision had been made. After few years of century old historical restorations and various new custom home builds and a successful flooring company, Derek was ready for a larger market. Dallas, Texas. Since moving himself and his company in 2010, Middle Layne Construction has partnered with and built for many of the largest home builders in the Texas market as well as constructed some of the most popular workout studios, bars, restaurants and office spaces in Dallas.
